Lemongrass is a tropical clumping grass commonly used for making tea, and culinary or medicinal purposes. It also repeals insects as its essential oil is Citronella. It has a fruity lemon like fragrance. It provides wonderful flavor in marinades or when stir fried. I love to boil fresh leaves in water to make tea and make my house smell amazing.
Hardy in zones 9+. If your in a colder zone, grow in a pot and bring indoors during the winter. Grows in full sun or partial shade. Mature plants are almost 5FT tall. They are very drought tolerant, and no need to water or fertilize once established.
